Of Rockets, Space Elevators, and the future of Space Exploration

The expansion of man’s reach into space will not be possible without the discovery of rockets. They have taken us to the moon and back. We have sent numerous probes and captured close glimpses of most members of our planetary neighborhood. Rockets enabled us to construct space stations and artificial satellites. They are still the mainstay of space propulsion and will continue to do so until we discover something better.

The primary usefulness of rockets is their incredible power to overcome earth’s gravity (or gravity in general), without which none of the above could have been possible. The only disadvantage is the direct correlation of the payload mass and the rocket fuel. The more people and instruments we want to put in space, the more rocket fuel we will need. Add to that the mass of the rocket fuel itself and we will see the reason of man’s slow advance in this final frontier. Using rockets is costly, limited, and requires a lot of complex logistics and management.

The GOLDILOCKS MISSION is expanding in many exciting ways. Our website is growing and connecting with millions of people worldwide and inviting them to read the book and become part of this thrilling journey.

The screenplay is well on its way to becoming an exciting movie based on the book. It will have concepts and visuals that go far beyond 2001: A Space Odyssey and will combine the innovative, self-reliant, resourceful and enlivening story of a Swiss Family Robinson but with our own Skydets and a whole new world and a new home on the planet Gaia with exciting  adventures and new mysterious life forms to discover.

Welcome to our blog about habitable planets and star systems

December 03, 2009 Habitable Planets by Goldilocks Mission

Like every other journey, man’s next migration to the stars begins with a single step. This first most important step will define the rest of our adventure and it all starts with knowing our destination.  Once we have identified where to go, we can direct all of our resources and best efforts into finally reaching it.

Although to date there has been no extrasolar planets identified to be fully habitable in comparison to earth, we must be kept up-to-date with the recent developments in astronomical discoveries pertaining to habitable planets and viable star systems. This section introduces you to several candidates for the Goldilocks Mission.
